In any deep inner search that a human being undertakes they will either quickly or eventually come up against the need to deeply realise the title of this article.  “We come to Nirvana by way of Samsara”.  What does this mean?

Said directly and simply, to realise your True nature and embody it in daily life you won’t be able to avoid anything.  Once you’ve had a glimpse of your True nature, even if only for a very short moment, Spirit or Consciousness now holds a mirror up for everything you’ve been avoiding or repressing.

There is no way around this sometimes inconvenient truth.  To come to wholeness and live from our undivided beingness, we must deal with the can of worms that most people are trying desperately to keep the lid on.  Coming out of denial can be frightening for most people and this can have it’s roots in toxic shame.  This fundamental sense of unworthiness seems to be at the core of always wanting more or looking for satisfaction in external things.  People mostly aren’t aware they are functioning from this constricted sense of self and so the cycle of suffering (Samsara) continues.

Spiritually transcendent experiences can be wonderful and ultimately may aid in transformation, but not always.  When you transcend something, it is still waiting for you when you return from the transcendent state.  It is through an act of deep unconditional love that Spirit always come back to shine a light on the dark and painful places within.  Although it may not feel loving at the time, it is a Grace inviting you to move beyond a constricted sense of self and truly heal past pains at all levels. Psychological, emotional and physical.

Whether you’re becoming aware of your unconscious conditioning, shadow side, beliefs, traumas and repressed emotions or not is irrelevant.  Until you face them and heal them your life will be a printout from this state of being.  Seemingly satisfactory at times, but if you look deeply you will notice life lived from this state of being has an inherent sense of dissatisfaction and constriction.

This deep healing work is an imperative part of the awakening process.  The healing path will be different for everyone, but it is important to find the right type of assistance and you usually won’t find this in just one therapist, healer or teacher.  When we are willing to face ourselves we open to the possibility of a liberated way of living, where we can experience life with ultimate freedom, connection and joy.  Resting within the paradox of complete unity and autonomy at the same time.
